Wedding Flowers

Dating back to the ancient Greeks, flowers have been used by brides to express love and emotions on the day of their wedding. Flowers herbs and plants were used to make a crown for the bride to wear and were considered to be a gift from nature. Later during medeival times they were believed to be symbols of fertility and to ward off evil spirits. The groom's buttonhole originates from medeival knights wearing their lady's colours.

Today the use of herbs and plants are no longer used for weddings and we no longer have knights in shining armour jousting for their lady's favour but the tradition of flowers on a wedding day is as important to any bride and groom as it ever has been.

It's worth remembering that fresh flowers should be be kept in conditions that will keep them vibrant for as long as possible. Have them delivered the morning of the wedding and mist them with cool water if the ambient temperature is hot.
